“My photography interest started with a Kodak Instamatic back in the seventies! I did buy a non-digital Canon SLR twenty years later and was impressed by some random results which were through sheer luck than planning. Attempted to understand the technical side but quickly gave up on the manual after page 6! When digital arrived I watched my brother endeavouring to download some pics on his – the thing got red hot and was virtually melting so that put me off big time. I promptly went out and bought a Sony Mavica because floppy was a medium I understood. Loved that camera but a couple of years back I was finally tempted to buy an Olympus digital with an 18x zoom and, after a mate showed me how to use it properly, I became addicted.
My biggest regret is that I never really had access to a good camera, or more correctly, the basic skills needed to get good photographs when I was able to travel more widely. However, no use crying over spilt milk and I’m going to use this group as, hopefully, an opportunity to learn and improve.”

While we can’t make any promises about helping you learn and improve I think I can speak for the group when I say both Welcome Aboard and Hang On – We’re a bit of a deranged bunch!
Deranged bunch? HA HA, yeah, come to think of it, I’d have to agree. Oh and watch out for Darren. I think he totes a pool cue. I’ve heard rumors…
Yeah, Bob. If you find yourself in Bedford (and perish the thought) beware of bar keeps carrying pool cues.
Nothing like a nice bit of rough
